About Us

Spectrafy is building the future of solar and atmospheric measurement.

The solar, weather and agricultural industries are increasingly demanding the highest quality of solar and atmospheric data – data that has historically required multiple, highly expensive instruments to obtain.

To meet this need, Spectrafy has developed the SolarSIM – a line of solar spectral sensors that combine simple, rugged hardware and advanced analytics to make it easy and affordable for our customers to get all the data they need.

With products deployed at dozens of sites across the globe, including Tier 1 solar and meteorological companies, Spectrafy is at the forefront of providing the green economy with the data it needs at prices it can afford.

Our Team

Richard Beal, CEO
Richard Beal, DPhil, is the co-founder and CEO of Spectrafy and has spent the last decade researching ways to make better photovoltaic technologies. He holds a bachelor in Chemical and Materials Engineering from the University of Auckland and a DPhil in Materials Science (Photovoltaics) from the University of Oxford where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar. An entrepreneur since 2012, he also represents Canada on the IEC – the international committee that writes standards for the solar industry.

Viktar Tatsiankou, CTO
Viktar is the co-founder and CTO of Spectrafy and is the inventor of the SolarSIM products line. He holds the B.A.Sc. and M.A.Sc. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Ottawa. Prior to joining Spectrafy, Viktar spent over two years on the electrical engineering team at Morgan Solar, simulating and implementing circuit boards, designing test systems, and developing software interfaces. Viktar is concurrently pursuing a PhD at the University of Ottawa as sponsored by the Alexander Graham Bell scholarship.
